You can sew this tape to just the lining of your blind, or to all the layers of the blind when complete.  Whichever method you use, sew the tape into place above the rod and cord pockets.

    Sewing Just to the Lining
This method gives you a near invisible finish when the blind is down, but you will have to do some hand sewing so that the layers stay together when you open and close the blind.

Attach the tape to the lining before you start sewing the blind together.  When the blind is finished, tack the front fabric to the lining along each tape’s sew line, every 5 to 10cm.

    Tacking
Looking at the back of your blind, at the start of your first tape.  Insert your needle just under the tape, push it through the lining fabric, and out the front of the blind.   Then push the needle back into the blind, right next to where it came out, all the way through the lining and tape (catching just a few threads in the stitch).  When the needle is through to the back insert the needle back in, right next to where it came out, but this time stop in the space between the lining and the front fabric.  Travel sideways 5-10cm before coming out the front of the blind.  Insert the needle back into the blind, next to where the needle came out....  Repeat these steps the full length of each piece of tape, hiding the finishing knot between the lining and tape at the end.

    Sewing to the Completed Blind
This is the quicker method, with no hand sewing, but when the blind is down you will see sew lines where the tape is attached to the blind.

Complete your blind before adding your tapes.  Pin them into place on the back of your blind and sew into place, making sure your bobbin cotton matches your main fabric, as this is what will appear on the front of the blind.
