Our Story
Fabric Shed is a family run business, started 10 years ago, when Claire, a confirmed fabric addict, just couldn't find the right fabric for her sewing projects locally.
​
She scoured the globe for just the right fabric and imported what she needed. Like all true fabric addicts she bought more than she needed "just in case" and went onto sell the extra on Ebay, to help cover the shipping costs. Fabrics were snapped up and before long people were asking if we had a website, we looked into the possibility, took a leap of faith and here we are today.
A Store Run For Sewers, By Sewers
We are passionate about fabric and demystifying the world of sewing. We only stock brands which we have tried and tested, and products we have road tested thoroughly at our Sewing School - if it doesn't make sewing more fun, it doesn't get on the site.
Brand Champions
One brand we are particularly passionate about is Dashwood Studio, a UK based design house producing beautiful prints which seem to capture the best of a bygone age without looking old fashioned, with grown up prints, florals and child focused ranges.

Their core fabric ranges are printed on 100% medium weight cotton, and as they expand rayons and linen mixes are being added, as well as cotton poplin and jersey. In addition to offering Dashwood Studio fabrics off the roll, we also cut their collections into 2.5” strips for Jelli Rolls, 5” pinked squares for Charming Packs, 10” squares for Layered cakes and 50cm x 55cm squares for Fat Quarter Packs.

Perhaps because we exist primarily to support sewers and share our passion for fabric, not simply to feed the bottom line, we love to share a good buy with our customers - low prices and special offers do not result from a drop in quality.

We want our customers to know that if they order anything from us they are assured of the quality of the goods they will receive. No one likes to be disappointed when a parcel arrives, and so we only stock brands we trust 100%, and try and provide as much information about each product on our site.

We offer a 30 day no quibble return policy, if you don't like what you receive, or its not going to work for your project, as long as it is returned unused and resalable, we will refund the original cost of the product.
Privacy Protected
We do not sell data held here at Fabric Shed. We share information with our payment processing company and if your order is shipped via a tracked service, with the courier or Royal Mail, but with no one else.
